Pallavi Kathak Gurukul is dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich tradition of Kathak, one of India’s most celebrated classical dance forms.

Founded by Pallavi Degwekar, a seasoned Kathak exponent and Guru with nearly three decades of experience, the Gurukul serves as a beacon for aspiring artists in the Indian-American community. Located in the NJ/NYC area, it provides comprehensive training in Kathak, blending traditional techniques with modern pedagogy to foster a deep appreciation for Indian classical arts.

Classes at Pallavi Kathak Gurukul
Our course exams, conducted through BVDUSPA, take place twice a year in April/May and November/December. These exams provide students with an opportunity to showcase their progress and dedication, marking important milestones in their Kathak journey!
In addition to regular classes, we also conduct workshops, stage performances, and cultural events to promote the rich heritage of Kathak. Our aim is to nurture a deep understanding and appreciation for this beautiful art form while fostering creativity and self-expression.
